DISTRICT23 AUTUMN/WINTER COLLECTION

DISTRICT23 AUTUMN/WINTER COLLECTION

The new District23 collection of tshirts is by far my favourite. Inspired by my recent trip to New York City, each shirt has an element of vintage Americana applied to them. There are four shirts in total, each accompanied by a full colour art print to make them even more exclusive.

COLOUR

For an Autumn/Winter collection you might be thinking “wow that’s a bright colour palette” and you’re right. There’s been so much pastels and muted tones as of late that I wanted to inject some bold colours to keep the winter blues away. Not to mention that Autumn is an incredibly colourful time of year as the leaves change from green to oranges and reds – this is a beautiful season and there’s no need to have a bland wardrobe in the dreary weather. Bright tones suggest warmth and hopefully the aqua, green, orange and raspberry get you in the mood for snuggling up with layers and a hot chocolate.

THEME

When I first found myself as a designer a few years ago vintage Americana was what inspired me most. The rustic, industrial and derelict sights of neon signs and the composition of the calligraphy was something I couldn’t get enough of. This collection looks at Americana on the road with motel signs, gasoline pumps, license plates and speedway racing – all iconic elements of American design that got me interested in this profession in the first place.

The collection is available for purchase now at District23. Please take into consideration that each shirt is made to order and will take a couple of weeks to process. Each tshirt is hand screen printed onto American Apparel 50/50 shirts assuring you get the best authentic quality that suits the vintage look of the designs.
